The Last Day Of Summer Vacation

The kids have been begging to go fishing so we decided to take them one last time before school starts. Mackenzie was so excited because she caught her first fish all by herself. We dont usully keep anything that we catch but the kids were determined to keep them and cook them with dinner so we did. Dallas cooked a couple of them and the kids actually tried it. I was surprised. They both said that they liked it but neither of them ate much (not that I blame them.) We had a fun day. By the time we left, Gavin was so exhausted, he fell asleep with the seatbelt strapped across his face.

A Day At The Circus!!

This week me and the kids went to the circus. They had so much fun. Gavin LOVED the big lion, but I think he was also sort of scared of it because the whole time the lion was out, he held my hand as tight as he could. Mackenzie's favorite part was the pony ride and the clown.

Boys will be Boys

Gavin's favorite thing to do in the whole world is to play in the mud. On the one side of our house we do not have grass. He likes to turn on the water to make mud and dig with his shovel. I've tried and tried to keep him from doing this, but then I just decided that he's really not hurting anything so why not. It has become an almost-daily ritual. He plays in the mud, then we squirt him off with the hose. I'm glad that we are having a girl. I'm not sure my washing machine could handle two boys.

Anderson Family

Last weekend we had a little family reunion at my mom and dad's house. Everyone was there but Erick and Leslie. But, considering the fact that they live in another country, it would have been a little hard for them to come. We did miss them though, and are all looking forward to seeing them in December. The kids had lots of fun. We went to the parade, then they just played in the water all day at my mom's house. They painted t-shirts, and we went to the fireworks. It was a lot of fun.

Swimming Lessons

The kids had so much fun in swimming lessons this year. This was Mackenzie's third year in swimming and Gavin's first. They both love the water but they are both a little scared of going all the way under. They will go under for a second but that's about it. So, it may be a while before they actually swim but that's ok. I've been taking them quite a bit so hopefully by next year they will be a little more comfortable.

T-Ball

Well, the T-ball season is over. It has been so much fun watching the games and seeing Mackenzie progress. Every time she played, she got a little better, and a little more confident. She was really excited to get her trophy after her last game.

We are in the process of getting a sprinkler system put in our yard and Gavin thinks that it's the funnest thing we've ever done. He plays outside in the trenches all day. He likes to turn on the water to make mud and dig with his shovel. He is not going to be very happy when we get our yard all put back together and he can no longer dig his "BIG OL' HOLES."

Our Father's Day Weekend

Dallas had a 4-day weekend for father's day so we decided to go camping. We had alot of fun. Gavin is definately his father's son. He loved every minute of it. He wanted to be outside all day playing in the dirt, throwing rocks, and fishing. It was a battle getting him to go in the trailer at bedtime. Even after three days he hadn't had enough. He did not want to go home. Mackenzie on the other hand didn't enjoy herself quite so much. She says that she had fun but it didn't show. She was pretty miserable. She would have prefered to stay at the trailer and color, read, play games, and watch movies instead of hiking around and fishing. But even that would get pretty boring after a while so she was pretty onry by the 2nd day. I cant say that I blame her too much bacause by the end of the third day I couldn't wait to go home either.
