Ahhh. This is how I have felt lately! We have been so crazy busy this past month that I just can't seem to keep up! It's been great but I am ready for a change.. Ready for things to slow down a little bit. I made this post a week ago when I took a sick day from work and went back later to post it and it hadn't saved! So, here I am a week later, taking another sick day so I thought i'd try again. Avery was sick the 1st time, then I have been really sick for a week now-it's getting old. I've worked all week but I just couldn't do it anymore so I stayed home today. I slept for 12 hours last night! I needed it too. This is the first time I've slept good in a week. Usually I hate missing work and I hate having to find a sub but these 2 days I've taken have been a much welcome and needed break.
A few weeks ago I thought it would be fun to get some fake eyelashes. I called the salon and set my 2 hour appointment and I LOVED them! -for about 3 days. They looked amazing but the longer I had them, the more irritated my eyes became. I wanted to scratch my eyes out! This is what my eyes looked like. Attractive aren't they?? The eyelashes are supposed to last 3 weeks or so but I hurried the process along by picking them out in the shower. Unfortunately, they took half of my eyelashes with them. I definitely won't be doing that again!
my little Avery turned 5 this month so we partied hard! We started celebrating 2 weeks before her Birthday. First, we went swimming at Cowabunga Bay.
Avery loved the little tiny baby water slides and would not go anywhere near the bigger ones. She was happy as could be in the baby pool.
sugar anyone?? What could be better that a 3 foot tube of flavored sugar??
Avery really really wanted minion cupcakes- from the despicable me movie- But, there were none to be found. So, we got creative with some cupcakes, twinkies, candy eyeballs, sprinkles, and decorating gel. VOILA- minion cupcakes! Avery was so excited!
The next day we went to the Box Elder County Fair. We try to go every year if we can and the kids think it's great!
Avery just wanted to ride the train over and over and over again. The kids thought it was pretty exciting to go off on their own to ride the "Big kid rides".  We even got to see Sara and Rylee dance.
2 days later, we were getting ready for the 1st day of school. Avery starting kindergarten, Gavin in 3rd grade, and Mackenzie is a big middle-schooler going to 5th grade.
Gavin loves his teachers! I know he will have a great year with Mrs. Mackey and Mrs. Bright.
Avery was so excited for kindergarten.. until we walked in the door. Then she told me that she "thinks she just needs to go to pre-school for a few more days." She said she would go to kindergarten after she turns 5. She wouldn't talk to her teacher and didn't want me to leave.
But- she came home full of smiles so I think that's a good sign!
The next day she even wanted to ride the bus.
A week later, my baby turned 5! We started the night before her birthday with a bbq. We invited friends over and had dinner, cake and ice cream, then we played some games. I didn't take any pictures though. That night, Dallas left to go hunting and me and the kids had a sleep-over out in the camp trailer. The next morning, I realized we hadn't done candles with either her cupcakes or at the bbq the night before and I was not about to make another birthday cake so this is what she got for breakfast.... a ding dong with 5 glowing candles.
Then she got to open a few presents! We spent the rest of the day playing and relaxing- the first week of school had been a little rough on her so she needed a day to decompress.
I asked Avery what she wanted for her Birthday dinner and told her she could have anything she wanted. I said that we could make something or we could go out to eat.. anything she wanted. Her response.. I want ramen noodles. What?? really? Oh where have I gone wrong? We compromized and settled on ramen noodles for lunch and pizza for dinner. Even Grandma Sill, Trey, and Tage came for dinner to help celebrate.
Like I said earlier, we have been insanely busy these past 6 weeks and that is mainly because of 2 things.. soccer and football. Gavin and Avery are playing soccer and Gavin is also playing football. So, every night and most Saturdays too, we are running around to different games and practices. Dallas has been hunting through most of it so it's all on me. I love watching the kids play and it's been fun to see them learn and improve but I am tired of cold cereal, pancakes, and hot dogs for dinner because we aren't home long enough to make anythings else.
Gavin has an amazing coach this year and he has learned so much from her. She has spent so much time practicing and working with them to help them improve and they have.
Avery doesn't love soccer.. She basically runs back and forth across the field do everything she can to avoid kicking the ball. She sure looks cute in her uniform though!
The only reason she keeps going back is for the treats.
This is Gavin's first time playing football and he has loved every minute of it.
I had to throw this on here. This is what Mackenzie looks like every day when she goes to school- basketball shorts (or pants), a t-shirt, and mismatched socks. So much for all of the cute little skinny jeans I bought for her! I was always glad that I had my girls so far apart because I wouldn't have to deal with the girls fighting over clothes (like me and my sisters always  did).. But that doesn't matter because I still get to deal with Mackenzie and Gavin fighting over their basketball shorts and pants! She's adorable isn't she?
Dallas was gone hunting for several weeks and this is his home away form home. Looks cozy right? That just doesn't look fun to me at all!
Dallas took Mackenzie and Gavin out one day. Mackenzie won't admit it, but they all had a great time.
The kids have now been in school for a month and they are all doing really well. Avery struggled for about 2 weeks but now she is always happy to go. The only thing she doesn't like about school she says is PE.. "because they make you run and you get sweaty."  Mackenzie is doing great as usual, and Gavin's teachers can't say enough good things about him. Great student, listens, follows directions, gets right to work, ect.. I think they will all have a great year! I wouldn't change a thing.. except for the weather. It is so cold! I am not ready for this! It's only September 27th and it has been snowing for the past 2 days. I want summer back!!
