Back to School!

After a very fun summer, it is time to go back to school. The kids have now finished their first week and I go back Tuesday. I am not ready for this!! Where did my summer go?? I am not ready for early mornings, homework, and bedtimes. But, ready-or-not, here we go! They all had a great first week and will adjust to the new routine eventually. They have not been happy about having to wake up early that's for sure.. but neither have I.
Mackenzie is in 6th grade, Gavin is in 4th, and Avery is in 1st.  They are growing up too fast and I don't like it one bit. Mackenzie has a locker this year, has to dress for PE, and has lots of different teachers. She was a little nervous but I think she's got it down now.
Gavin's teacher this year is Mrs. Perkins
Avery has Mr. Smith and I think it will be a great year for all of them!

Park City Weekend

Our last summer adventure was a weekend in Park City. We went with Grandma Sill, Trey, and Tage, and stayed in a condo for a few days. it was really fun.
We did lots of swimming
and we had lots of fun riding the zipline, the coaster, and the alpine slides.
Kenzie on the zip-line.
The alpine slide was a blast! Avery screamed and laughed the whole way down.
The mini zip-line.
Rock climbing!
The coaster
We also rode the gondola up to the top of the mountain and hiked around a bit.
looks cozy!
Kenzie and Tage on the zipline.
I don't know what this thing was called but Avery got stuck in it and lost her pants.. and panties.. and I couldn't get to her to help her. She got them back up. Although not as quickly as I would have liked.
It was such a fun weekend! We definitely weren't ready for summer to be over!

Bear Lake

We made our annual Anderson's trip to Bear Lake. I love that place! It was a really fun day. Except for the part where Avery disappeared and we couldn't find her.. I decided Avery and Bear Lake just don't mix.. First she drops my keys into the outhouse toilet, then she scares me to death because she ran off. I was watching all of the kids play.. The little girls were playing in the sand.. I laid down in the sand to get some sun.. I looked up a few times, saw her playing, and when I looked up again she was gone.. Luckily I knew she had her life jacket on so I wasn't really worried about the water but I thought someone had lured her over and snatched her. There was a lot of people on the beach. We all started looking.. I felt helpless.. I didn't know what to do because I didn't think she would wander off.. Not on her own.. Not when all of her cousins were there playing. Finally Braden found her.. She had wandered clear down the beach and when she saw him she ran from him- like it was a game. It was the most terrifying 5 minutes of my life. Never again will I take my eyes off of her when we are in a crowded place like that.
