Summertime!!!

Summer came and went in the blink of an eye! We started out our summer with a 3 day trip to Rexburg for Gavin's soccer tournament. They lost every game but they had a great time! I didn't even take any pictures during the games but we took about 14,000 at Bear World.
I had never seen a white elk before. It was pretty neat.
The kids all LOVED the petting zoo!
The deer would eat right from your hand.
The bear cubs were so cute! And so much fun to watch!
We rode the feeding truck and fed bread to the bears. They would stand up on the side of the truck and beg for food. It was so much fun. We all want to go back!
One weekend we decided to drive up to Bear Lake and Minnetonka cave. It was a long wait to get into the cave then it takes about 2 hours to hike through. The kids were troopers and had a great time!
This was toward the end of the hike. Avery was done.
Then we went to the lake and played in the water for a few hours. We love Bear Lake!
Of course you can't go to Bear Lake without getting a raspberry milkshake!
We got to Play with Shelby, Aubrey, and baby Jordan for 4 days while Jordan and Breann went to Vegas. We had them for the 4th of July and it was so much fun to have them here.
We went to the parade and the fireworks, we swam in the pool, and we lit off a whole bunch of fireworks of our own.
Mackenzie was gone most of the time. She came home just in time to go to the fireworks. She was off on her first pioneer trek. She had so much fun and didn't stop talking about it for days.

When she got home... Covered in filth but still smiling!
We got season passes to 7 peaks again this summer and went many times. It's such a fun place!
Gavin also spent some time relaxing and kayaking in our home pool. Who needs 7 peaks when you've got a luxury pool in the middle of your driveway?
We bought 3 of these kayaks this summer and it's seriously the best money we've ever spent. They have had so much fun with those things!
I went to St. George for a little getaway with my High School friends and we had a great time!! We went to the lake and rode wave runners, we went to the Tuachan and watched Beauty and The Beast, we did some shopping, and of course went hiking.
The slot canyons were so cool! I want to take my kids to see them.
I wouldn't be summer if we didn't go to Lagoon at least a couple times.
The new ride Cannibal was awesome!
Mackenzie and Gavin wanted to ride she Sky Coaster.. I was so nervous watching them!
Going up...
and up....
and down!!

They loved it!

We had to call it quits early when this one started throwing up.. poor kid

And so it begins..

I found this paper of Avery's I had saved and thought I'd better document it.. Keep in mind.. This is my 1st grader here. She had cleaned out her desk and brought a huge stack of papers home. I looked through them and found several with star stickers from her teacher and what is supposed to be my signature at the bottom. She had forged my signature on homework that she had never even brought home! And her teacher accepted them haha! I've got to admit she did a pretty good job. I didn't think I would have to deal with this situation until High School!

Dance Competitions

In April the girls competed in the dance competition in Green River. They had a great time and they both did a great job!

Mackenzie's team won 1st place and high point overall Which means out of the whole competition their dance scored the highest points which qualified them for nationals! They were so excited!!

Avery's dance was adorable and she did a great job despite the fact that she absolutely hates her dance costume. After trying it on the first time, she said she wanted to quit so she wouldn't have to wear it.
Nationals! Here we come!!
They got Ruby 1st place so they didn't get to continue on but they had a great time and I am just glad they were able to go.
