All Gavin wanted to do for his 7th Birthday this year was to go fishing. So- the weekend before his big day we loaded up the truck, and went to the Gorge. The weather was supposed to windy and miserable but it was so nice! We wore jackets for the first half of the day then it got warm enough to take them off.
Grandpa Sill came and brought Trey and Tage then Preston came for a while too! The kids caught lots of fish and had a blast hiking around on the rocks. I had fun relaxing, reading, and listening to my i-pod.
He had a great day! We only forgot one thing.. sun screen! The kids went home with pink cheeks and noses but I went home looking like a lobster. I think something in the products I use on my face caused a severe burn. There is a warning right on the label so maybe I should have thought about that. This was the WORST sunburn I have ever had. My eyes were swolen for 3 days, my lips were swolen for one. I had blisters all over my nose and forehead. I couldn’t wear make-up for over a week and I had to go to school like that. It was awful. It hurt so bad and it looked terrible! My face peeled 3 times and now, 2 weeks later, is almost back to normal. I should have taken a picture!
Gavin woke up on his Birthday to this… I took the sports themed stuff out of his room and put up camo. New bedding, new curtains, new rug, new pictures, and some skylanders. He got 6 but 3 of them didn’t come in the mail till the next day. Gavin is pretty happy with his room. We have some re-arranging and some decorating to do one of these days but he is happy! Happy Birthday Gav! We Love you so much!
Then he blew out his candles for Breakfast. My kids all love cinnamon cake so I made that for breakfast and put his candles in it. He took cupcakes to school then the next day we had a bbq with his best friend Gage and his family to celebrate both their birthdays. We had hot dogs, salad, fruit, and cupcakes then we decorated Easter eggs and had an Easter egg hunt. I didn’t get any pictures but it was pretty fun!We took this picture of an Owl that was in a tree across the street.
That weekend was Easter so we went to Utah for the weekend. We spent a night with the Anderson’s and a night with the Sill’s. We took the kids to the community Easter egg hunt where they got to see the Easter Bunny.
Then we went to Grandma’s house where we had a BBQ and another egg hunt. The cousins always have so much fun playing together.
We can’t have a bbq and Grandpa’s without making home-made ice cream! The kids all had a turn helping Grandpa. They got out Grandpa’s big kite and attempted to fly it. There wasn’t quite enough wind.Mark and Dallas trying to show the kids how it’s done.
We spent the next night with the Sills where the kids all got some surprises from the Easter Bunny.
One last Easter Egg hunt and dinner with all of the Sills and it was time to head home. The kids all got along so well and had so much fun. I hope thy will always get along this well! When we got home, the kids had one more surprise- The Easter Bunny had left baskets at our house too! They got this flarp stuff that makes fart noises and the kids thought it was hilarious. I have not heard them laugh like that in a very long time. Music to my ears!
