We are still here!

So so much has happened since I last posted. Most importantly, winter has turned into summer! Well, at least that's what they tell me but the 50 degree temps we've been having these past few days make me think otherwise.. It's gotten down into the low 30's at night brrr! School has been out for over 2 weeks already. I am already mourning the end of summer because I know how fast it's going to go but we will make the best of it while it's here! I really think I live in the wrong town.. The wrong state actually. It's just too cold for me. I'm not a fan of winter and the fact that our winter lasts more than half of the year, well, don't even get me started.. Here's some pictures from the past 6 months since i've last posted.. Has it really been that long??
My little Avery bug ready to play in the snow.. crazy girl!
On their 100th day of school, the kindergarteners were supposed to dress up as 100 year-olds. Avery made the cutest old lady i've ever seen. Complete with grey hair!

This was Mackenzie's big sewing project for the year.. Another quilt. She got the material from her Great Grammy Loveless so it's pretty special. She did an amazing job!
Mackenzie turned the big 11 in January so we partied hard! She wanted money so she got a new wallet full of money!
She also got some new shoes and new pajamas.
She had a sleep-over then we went ice skating and out to lunch. We had a great time!
Mackenzie also got to go skiing for her first time. She LOVED it! But- she learned that next time, she needs to wear sunscreen. I sent her with a brand new bottle. Think she used it??? I think not.
Mackenzie also played jr. Jazz and she played in a few basketball tournaments. she loved every minute of it!
She was even in the newspaper! Haha! Best picture ever!
Gavin had his first experience of shooting a coyote. He was so excited.. It's a long story, but let's just say it was injured before he shot it. He happily put it out of it's misery.
Gavin turned the big 9 in April. How is it that my babies are getting so old?? They aren't babies anymore. He also wanted money for his Birthday. What is up with that??
He got these little building kits.. and money.
For his Birthday we took his friend Rylee to Toad's where they played arcade games, mini golf, laser tag, and rode go-karts. We all had a great time!
I think we wore him out! Happy Birthday Buddy!
Gavin also got to participate in the pinewood derby this year. He had so much fun designing his car and racing it at the derby.. He qualified for regionals and took 20th place out of 50. Not bad for a 1st timer!

We had a great easter! 4 easter egg hunts, 2 easter baskets, one at grandma's and one at home, good food, good friends, family, and lots of fun! We got to spend time with both sides of the family which made for a great weekend!

 jackpot!!!!
These are from Avery's Kindergarten celebration on the last day of school. I can't believe my baby is done with Kindergarten! How crazy is that?? Doesn't she look so cute up on that stage??
She has become quite the independent little thing.. She likes to dress herself and she would do her own hair and make-up every day if I would let her. Yes- make- up. This is the kind of ensemble we see from her on a near daily basis and yes, I let her dress herself for school most of the time. It's just not worth the fight haha.
Gav had his big field trip to the zoo this year and really wanted me to go with him so me and the girls sluffed work and school and met him there. It was a great day!!

A few weeks before school got out, Dallas had to go to Cody for fire school so me and the kids kids packed up and went with him. These pictures were taken in the hotel eek!! creepy! The kids were in heaven!
This is Mackenzie receiving her Presiden't Education Award. This is not an easy award to earn so Good job kiddo! We are so proud!
Good news!! Last week Mackenzie got her braces off! She is so happy!! Too bad it's only phase one so she will be getting them back on in a year or two
Avery wanted her picture taken too..
After! Look at that pretty smile!
So, we do not have an Avery at our house anymore.. We have an Elsa.. Elsa loves to sing the Frozen "Let it go" song and it's pretty adorable. Elsa wears her sparkly blue dress everywhere she goes..
Yesterday Elsa was not happy. She found a pair of blue sparkly "Elsa boots" at the store and Dad said no.. He didn't want to spend $70 for a pair of boots she would probably never wear. Or she'd lose them like she does all of her shoes.. She was very upset.
All is well though, because we went to the grocery store afterward and she settled on lip gloss and deodorant. (yes, deodorant. Don't ask me where that came from. That's what she picked.)
