sick day

I have been sick and Sunday was the worst day by far! I was dizzy, my ears hurt, my throat hurt, and I was hacking all day. So Dallas took Mackenzie, Gavin, Uncle Preston, and Grandpa Sill, up to Flaming Gorge for a couple hours. The kids had fun running around and throwing rocks into the water. As for me and Avery, We stayed home, took a much needed nap, watched Twilight, and made some vegetable soup.

Gavin's Big Weekend

Gavin had a great Birthday. Friday for his Birthday he wanted pizza, and he wanted to make his own cake. So I helped him make his cake. He picked monster trucks and m&m's to decorate it. We ate dinner, had cake, and he opened his presents. We take our kids to the store and let them choose their own birthday presents, so he already knew what he was getting.

He chose tools, The screaming Banshee truck, a big semi truck filled with little cars, and the space Buddies movie. Mackenzie picked him some stuffed bears, and Avery got him Aarplanes.Saturday, we went to Salt Lake to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was fun. My kids loved it. Mackenzie had to look at EVERYTHING! She thought it was great. Gavin loved the shark tank and the gift shop.

My camera's battery died about 10 minutes after we got there because I, of course, forgot to charge it. Oh well-At least I got a few pictures. Then we went to the to the gift shop and Grandma Sill let them all pick a toy. Thank You! When we got done, the kids were starving, so we went to lunch at the Mayan. The food wasn't great, but it was fun watching the cliff divers. We came home to a ton of snow, I think it's the most snow we've had all winter combined! Hopefully it melts fast! I am ready for spring!

BiRtHdAy BoY!!!

Gavin is turning four years old today!! I can't believe it! These past 4 years have gone by way too fast. Gavin has been such a joy to our family. He has such a sweet personality. He is always willing to help and is always happy. He is just like his dad. He loves being outside and loves animals. He has always been a mama's boy. For the first 18 months of his life, he wanted nothing to do with his dad. Boy has that changed... Now he wants to do everything "like dad". He is "excited about turning four and growing up so he can be as big like dad." He loves his sisters, he plays with Avery all of the time, he loves to feed her, and he always makes her laugh. She gets so excited when she sees him walk into the room. No one else can make her laugh as hard as he can. We have tried and tried, but she always laughs at him more than anyone else. He is so easy. He's happy just to stay home and play, and he entertains himself. He also loves to play with his friends. He is my little cuddlebug. He has such a loving personality. I am so grateful for the person he is becoming. Happy Birthday Gavin! We Love You!!

Happy Birthday!

Today would have been Tina's 23rd Birthday. I can't believe that it's already been 2 and a half years since she passed away. Every day just seems to go by faster and faster. I look back and wonder where all of the time went. It's crazy how fast our lives pass us by. I don't live close enough to go to the cemetery today so I had to find another way to acknowledge her special day. happy Birthday Tina! We love you and we miss you!

Over the river and through the woods, to grandmothers house we go....

I haven't seen Staci and Chris's family in about 8 months, so when my mom told me that they were going to be at her house over the weekend, we decided to make a quick trip to go see them. I finally got to meet my cute new niece, Kyrie. It was such a nice day. It was so warm, the kids played outside all day. And today it's snowing again! I wish it would just stay warm! We were all there except for Erick and Leslie's family and Dallas. It was fun to see everyone.

Avery LOVED being outside. She just sat on the grass and looked around at everything.

BOYS.....

Gavin has not had the best week this week. He's come home grumpy from pre-school, he's been having nightmares, which is probably why he's been so grumpy, and today he was playing with his bow and aarow, he took the rubber end off of it, so it was just the plastic tube, and I guess had it in his mouth, which we have told him not to do, anyway, he had it in his mouth and fell on it. He came to me crying and holding his mouth. I asked him if he bit his tongue, and he said yes, but when I looked in his mouth, there was blood in the back of his mouth, not the front. Then he told me that his aarow did it. I looked at the top of his mouth and there were 2 big gashes. They bled quite a bit for a few minutes, he kept gagging on the blood. He wouldn't let me look at it again. But after a few hours, I made him let me see it again because he won't eat anything, his voice has sounded different, and he has been having a harder time swallowing. I got a flashlight and looked at the back of his throat, and it's totally raw too! One side of his throat is all cut-up. It looks so sore. I feel so bad! He looks miserable! He has wanted to be held all day! Poor Avery has been completely neglected! It's a good thing she's such a happy baby.

Gavin+Bedtime=Nightmares

Gavin has been climbing into bed with me and Dallas a lot lately. He always says that he is scared. I have tried talking to him about it, but he wouldn't really tell me anything. Last night, he did it again, and again, I asked him about it. He said that he came in because he got scared again. This time when I asked him what he was scared of, he said, "my dreams." He told me that he has been having scary dreams. He said the one last night was about Wolves. He said that they jumped on our car when we were driving and it was really scary." The look on his face when he was telling me this was so cute! Mackenzie was about the same age when she started having bad dreams. There was one night she started crying and when I went into her room she told me that a scary man came into her room and tried to talk to her. I asked her "what kind of man?" She said "a black one." I asked her what he said to her and she said "I don't know, I didn't want to talk to him." At this point, I was a little panicked by the thought of someone being in our house. I woke up Dallas and we searched the whole house. All doors and windows were locked. I was in bed, but had not gone to sleep yet, so there's no way anyone could have come in without me hearing them, so we knew it was just a dream. But, to her it had seemed so real.
